MUKAI PHOTO STUDIO

FOOD & BEVERAGE PHOTOGRAPHER — TOKYO

NORIHIRO MUKAI

Food Photographer & Art Director

“Every dish has a face.”

A gentle face. A warm face. A face of quiet dignity. A face of raw power.

My work is to find the finest expression — to build a world around the subject,
with patience and precision, until a single photograph carries real weight.

When a viewer stops and thinks “I want that” — the image has done its job.

ABOUT

After 25 years at the forefront of commercial food photography, Norihiro made a decisive move at age 40: enrolling at Musashino Art University to re-examine the foundations of Design. This was a quest to bridge the gap between technical mastery and visual architecture. Today, he combines 25 years of elite craftsmanship with academic design principles, allowing him to not only capture “sizzle” but to architect every frame with strategic intent.

COMMERCIAL EXPERIENCE

Over 20 years of commercial food and beverage photography for advertising, packaging, menus and websites. Much of this work is commissioned through advertising agencies and production companies, so publicly displayed commercial work is limited. Selected work may be shared on request, subject to confidentiality and client permission.
